Quiet Days
Our Quiet Days are intended to provide you with the space to “be” before God; to relax, reflect and pray and so to renew your spiritual resources. The sessions have a strong grounding in liturgy and monastic traditions of contemplative prayer.
The space available will be kept as quiet as possible. Quiet Days take place on Saturdays, beginning at 10am with the Eucharist and closing at approx 3.45pm after common prayer. Please bring your own lunch: drinks are provided. Quiet Days Itinerary
10am Eucharist with reading and resources offered for use during the day
12:30pm Midday prayer 3:30pm Gathering together and prayer 3:45pm Depart The programme is kept simple to provide maximum space for individual contemplation, and participants are encouraged to use what is offered in so far as it is helpful. You are free to come and go at times to suit themselves during the day or to stay all day. During the afternoons our parish priest Richard Young will usually be available to meet with you on a one to one basis. Reading, Writing and Drawing
We have a reasonably good collection of books – mostly from the Christian contemplative tradition - that can be used during these sessions if you wish.
We will also provide some basic writing and drawing materials for reflective writing or art work. Session Dates
Quiet Days usually take place on the third Saturday in the month. Please contact us to check that the event you intend to attend is running as planned. These days are open to all whether on a regular basis or as a one-off.
Please note that at present we are not holding Quiet Days due to the coronavirus pandemic. |
