Visitors welcome Please note that social distancing restrictions will be in place for the foreseeable future due to the Covid-19 pandemic The church has a ring of eight bells, by Mears and Stainbank. They were originally hung in St James Birch in 1863 and on its closure were rehung in Holy Innocents in 1982. The bells bear the following inscriptions: Tenor Form the bequest of Alice Fletcher: “Holiness unto the Lord” Seventh Alice Fletcher: “Awake thou that sleepest, arise from the dead.” Sixth Alice Fletcher: “Watch thee; stand fast in the Lord” Fifth Given by the Rector: "Rejoice with them that rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” Forth Given by the congregation: “Watch and pray.” Third Given by the congregation and parishioners: “Pray for one another.” Second Given by the parishioners: “Praise the Lord of Heaven: Him in the height.” Treble Given by the congregation: “Praise Him all ye angels of His: Praise Him all His host.” |
